All are invited, but capacity is limited.
Lunar New Year is celebrated by billions of people around the world, and for many, it is a time for family reunions, abundant food, and loud celebrations.
AAPI Montclair’s first-ever Lunar New Year celebration will feature family-friendly educational, cultural, and social activities to offer community members a chance to celebrate and learn about Lunar New Year together. Ring in the Year of the Tiger with cultural performances including a Chinese lion dance and Korean fan dance; arts & craft activities led by MAM educators; and in special theme food, drinks, and merchandise available for purchase, all in a COVID-cautious setting outside on the grounds of the Montclair Art Museum.
In keeping with LNY's emphasis on family, a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Kaija Jung Andersen Memorial Scholarship, which honors Kaija's vibrant and love-filled life by supporting graduating seniors from MHS who exemplify her spirit of compassion, curiosity, and courage.
This event is free to MAM members. Please reserve your free tickets through the "Tickets & Donate" button. (Become a MAM member today!) Following our core value of inclusion, we have set general admission at just $5 for non-members (fee waivers available). If an additional donation is within your means, we offer our deepest thanks for helping to keep this celebration affordable for all.
We hope you can join us for this historic and joyful event!
