Lantern festival for justice and remembrance

SUNDAY, MAY 19, 2024

6:00–9:00 PM

Edgemont Memorial Park

Montclair, NJ


Join us for our fourth annual Lantern Festival for Justice and Remembrance and help us light thousands of lanterns in remembrance of those harmed by violence and injustice, including anti-Asian hate. Let's stand together against all forms of hate and celebrate community and solidarity, and our shared goals of securing justice for all. 


This inspiring evening will include performances by 

  • Out Montclair / Union Congregational Church Pride Choir
  • Vanguard Theater Company


and remarks by 

  • The Honorable Matthew J. Platkin
  • Amol Sinha of ACLU-New Jersey
  • Jafreen Uddin of the Asian American Writers’ Workshop
  • Emmy Award Winning TV Host Buki Elegbede. 


Visitors can also enjoy musical performances by
